Great food for a 900-gallon pond with goldfish.
I have a 900 gallon pond in my greenhouse. The goldfish seem to enjoy it and the waste breaks down, so the bio and mechanical filters can process it. As a result, the pond requires very little maintenance. Food is everything and it’s important to find the right balance. Initially, I overfed, but I’m thrilled with it now.

It is a quality product.
I have been using this product for many years. It has no fillers and compared to some other product I’ve used over the years, it doesn’t produce the copious amounts of waste the fish produce. I like the fact, that it floats. It brings the fish to come to the surface to feed and I can observe them quite well. They also put on quite some growth. I have been feeding it since I’ve had had my pond, minus trying some other brands. But came back to tetra pond. Sure, it weighs a lot less and I thought, too, it’s like feeding puffed rice. How can it be good. I switched to a more substantial food, meaning heavier in weight, but boy, the fish produced an awesome amount of waste, too. So I switched back and stayed with tetra pond food ever since. And even smaller fish can feed on it since it softens up fast compared to other brands. So they too are taken care of.

Used it to feed 4 fish in a small pond in the yard. Fish ate it up. Will last probably for a summer.

The Fish Go Crazy For This Stuff
We feed this food as a treat for our Grass Carp that keep our pond naturally algae free. They go absolutely feeding frenzy crazy for this food. They are very smart fish, we have a fish call and when they hear it they know to come right away for the food. They also love the cold water transitioning food by Tetra Pond for Fall and Spring water conditions too. Just like it says, the food does not dirty up the pond and that is a huge plus. These fish work hard for us keeping the pond healthy and natural so this food is a well deserved reward.

goldfish love it
its hard to come by in the retail shops. sometimes they have it, other times not. And they only carry the small tin . From Amazon, I get this big bag and no more hit or miss. I feed it to the goldfish and they love it. I had been feeding them flakes also, but they love these. I got pellets from another brand, but no dice. They don’t like it at all. Its easy to go to Amazon….and your done…******

The fish like these! That’s what counts – but price has gone UP 100%
I like these (because of the price and quantity), and more important, my goldfish and koi like them…of course they’re always happy to eat just about anything. I only feed my pond pigs every other day or so, usually flakes, but now also these floating sticks. I don’t know if they eventually sink because they glom onto them so fast they’re all gone in a twinkling.Looks like I’ll be buying more of these in the future! And now so far I’ve bought 4 bags, one at a time, and will buy more when I start to run out.UPDATE 1 October 2020: The price on Amazon has gone up by over 100%. Looks like I won’t be buying this anymore, or I’ll find other sources.UPDATE 23 August 2021: The price has gone up again, from $28 for the 3.7 pound bag, to over $41.

My koi really go after this even after being fed their regular food. With a dozen large koi, it is on the expensive side.

My 20 year old goldfish is begging like a dog for this food!!
I wish I bought this sooner for our 20 year old goldfish! He eats like no tommorow now.. (Thy also don’t sink)We where hit by Dorian a few weeks ago. Our pond got swamped by sound side flooding.. We usually don’t feed our old man while he’s in his hurricane shelter “100 gal cooler” for a few days because of stress. But this food came just in time before the mandatory evacuation & our main land road was closed. So.. I Thought I’d throw a few sticks in there to see what the old guy thought. He got one bite and was begging like a dog!!! I almost cried..His pond is clean and he eats twice a day..

“Hey Mikey, they like it”
These are great, I’ve been using pond sticks for years. The fish love it, and come swimming right up to us when we go out with a little cup of these floating pond sticks. These also come in red, which has a dye in it to make the fish more brilliantly colored (and maybe some vitamins?). We live in a coastal area and have lots of heron that would love to eat the fish so we prefer to have them colored, but not brilliantly. Have also tried Wardels(SP?) and flake food like you use in small bowls in the house. These pond sticks are best because a) the fish eat it, and b) it doesn’t pollute. We’re sticking with this.

My pond fish love Tetra Pond Food but cost has gone way up!
I’ve been using Tetra fish food since I had tropical fish tanks back in the 1970’s and goldfish in ponds since the mid 1990’s. My fish always loved eating it, it kept the tank and ponds clean because it floats, and they thrived & grew large. My only issue with Tetra Pond Food is it has gone up in price 2-3-4X in the past few years. One time I’ll pay $17.95 for a 3 lb bag, then go to re-order it and the price is suddenly $36-$53 for the same bag. This causes me to have to shop all over the internet or change food manufacturers in order to feed my pond filled with large & small goldfish. This is my biggest issue with Tetra Pond Food lately.

Great fish pond food.
This food arrived sooner than expected. I use this in my pond insert. My fish love it and it keeps my water clear. The package was bigger than I expected but that is ok as it is much cheaper than buying a bunch of smaller packages.

Price is not stable
Have been ordering this product between Amazon and Chewy for almost 6 years and the pricing is not stable. Goes way up and then drops down and overall has doubled in the last year. Will be trying to find either a different vendor or different food

Not sure how I’m supposed to rate the flavor…
I had six small goldfish in my 400 gallon pond. Two year later, I have 6 huge goldfish (6 or 7 inches long) and about 50 smaller ones of various sizes. The small jars of goldfish food weren’t gonna cut it any more. So I found this big (2 gallon or so) tub of goldfish food. The fish seem to like it (it looks like a piranha feeding frenzy when I feed them) and I don’t have to buy more every two weeks. The first tub looks like it will last about a month.

Our Koi LOVE These, Floats Well, Can Cause Feeding Frenzy
These are light and airy, so they float, stay floating for a while, and our Koi seem to love them. As long as they aren’t scared off, they will eat this in a feeding frenzy once one of the fish takes the first. This is noticeably better than another fish food we used to use that our Koi would eventually eat, but never seemed too excited about the other food. I’m sure they ate eventually. But these are more fun to feed. They are light, so you’ll go through it quickly, but one bag lasts us a few months, and much longer in the winter when they eat less (with the fall & winter variety for slower digestion). The only drawback is the packaging. The bag is a little clunky to open, pour, and re-seal. I don’t want to deal with the Ziploc seal twice daily, so we prefer to dump into an easy open and close container (as pictured). So we only pour from the bag into it. Definitely feed by the hand, or scoop, don’t just dump the bag because it is easy to pour too much. It is easy enough to pour. But re-sealing the bag takes some work and testing for tightness, and gets worse in time when the powder from crumbling fish sticks gets into the seal and doesn’t stay closed. I’ve been planning to get an air-tight cereal container to dump the larger bag into for easier re-filling my small container.

Only food my koi will eat.!!!!
We have just under 2000 gallon pond system. We’ve tried other koi food in the last 25 years, but our very spoiled koi and goldfish will only eat the Tetra pond sticks. One of the main advantages with this product is the fact that the pond food is light weight, so it does not startle The fish when it’s tossed into my pond. The only problem I’m having is not with the product but with deliveries. I set up a subscribe and save account for a every 2 week delivery. I received an email that my product is unavailable at this time. I had to order a different size and have it delivered to offset not getting the original delivery. I have no clue of when my subscribed order will be delivered. And because of the COVID-19 I have not been able to leave the house. And I’m at the mercy of these deliveries. I would just like a guesstimate of when the original order will arrive so that I can plan appropriately. My fish are not very forgiving when I run out of food.
